Ecu flash motorcycle mean1/16/2024 Flashing both bike's ECUs made a massive improvement, making their systems feel like an always perfectly dialed set of analog carbs - creamy, smooth and responsive. My '14 Super Tenere was annoying, my '06 FZ1 was so bad it was actually bordering on dangerous in this regard. My experience is with Yamahas, which suffer from on/off jerky throttle response. The older piggyback tuners did not have the blocked off "EPA" area on their tables. “I want to know what each individual cylinder is doing.” To do this, Pathak installs individual sensors at the header pipes, as far upstream as possible, and especially before the exhaust gasses reach any cross-over pipes. Unless you have a single-cylinder motorcycle, the sensor is located so far downstream that you’re getting an average reading from all the cylinders. While many aftermarket exhausts will have a bung to attach an O2 sensor and read the air/fuel mixture, the reading you’ll get from it is generally useless information. A quick peek at the air/fuel ratio throughout the rev range could also clue us in on spots to improve.Īs the saying goes, the devil is in the details, and it’s here that Pathak clues us in on a fallacy. Dips, flat spots, and irregularities generally point to areas of improvement. Peak power and torque are fun numbers to talk about, but Pathak is more curious about the entire curve. I did feel the front suspension could do with a little upgrading after repeatedly hitting undulating surfaces at speed for extended periods of time. I prefer good throttle control to ride the bike. I tend to use my own user setting with Max power and wind off traction control. I'm running Michelin Anakee on the front. Has decent life span, I destroyed my Michelin rear in 2000km. Motez tractionaator on the rear works well on and off road. Ate them on power and was extremely capable against them off road. Definitely gave teneres a hard time on a 2 day ride with 30 riders. I have got 8 more hp at the rear wheel and a slight increase in tauque. I have a straight through exhaust system, high quality air filters and a power comander with a dyno tune. The flashes that were out there have been pulled off the market due to instability in the flashes and causing damage. I would like a version with the semi active suspension. When you start to realise that this company also makes many of the parts that go into all the bikes. A top motorcycle racer commented that he couldn’t change gear that fast or that well. The rebel 1100 is probably the class leader for power to weight in the cruiser market and the DCT makes it a clear winner. Plenty of other 90 Hp motorcycles that are so much faster accelerating and higher top speed. It’s a relatively expensive motorcycle as it is when you consider how basic it is. Do you think they don’t know what they are doing? For me I just love that it has a DCT. Remember that the manufacturer makes bikes that go about twice as fast as the rebel. But realistically this bike is a Cruiser and has appropriate geometry to make it a better cruiser. The electronic rider aids are doing a lot to tame this beast. But honestly this is not the frame you want for going faster or the suspension, tires etc. There is even a patent for a direct injected and supercharged version. There is a lot of potential left over in that engine. You could also change a lot of other things. Perhaps if its a track bike then you can just put in a new ECU. If you want to go faster you are better with a different bike. Seriously I don’t think it’s a good idea.
